Tijuana, Mexico Orphanage Trip

Our trip to City Of Angels Orphanage, We crossed over the border on Friday night. Right away we got lost. I missed the lane/bridge. However, I was not scared at all! It was totally fine. I saw a Costco and then finally stopped at a 7-11 type place. There I met a really nice couple, they called the Orphanage for me and totally made sure I was going to get to where we needed to go. They met us there. God will always put the right people in your path when you are on his errands! :)
We arrived too late for Movie and popcorn so we where taken to the bunk house. Here volunteers can stay for $10 a person per night. It is about 15 mins. from the Orphanage. It was great b/c the people were so kind to us. We loved all the dogs that we saw as well. Just myself and two teenagers went.
Here was our view we woke up to. This is part of Tijuana, Mexico.

We made cars with the children. They all LOVED it.

Making bracelets.

We did a few loads of Laundry.

We took a break and got a few street tacos, my teens said, best tacos they have ever had! Score.

Hanging up the clean clothes, that day a donation was coming for a dryer! Yeah. You can meet them at the border if you just would like to donate and not cross over. This was the case for the dryer.

They made a forever friend. There is not a day that goes by that we don't think of him.

We walked up these stairs to get a better view of the Orphanage. It is the blue houses. All of the workers live at the Orphanage. There is SO MUCH LOVE there! God dwells there, no doubt!

He was a cutie.

Our forever friend, two peas in a pod, I love them.

We played games, made things, left things and had a pizza party for them. We got like 5 pizzas but these pizza's are So mucho grande.

My very favorite, The Mexican! You must try it if your down that way. Mama Mia Pizza. So good.

Good-byes were tough. But we smile that we had that experience.

This is Tenielle, When she was 17 she came to this Orphanage w/her Church group from Nebraska. She told us, she fell in love with the children. She ended up coming back and has been serving there for a couple of years. She also helps in Africa. She is now 23 and I love how she loves God and these children. This is what life is all about. She helped me plan our trip down there. Their website is www.tjkids.org and the name is City Of Angels.

The line to cross back over the border was SO fun! We laughed and enjoyed the 1 hour and 16 mins. Although it seemed so much shorter.

We even grabbed some Churros. We really feel grateful for our experience it was by far something we will never ever forget. LOVE is a great thing in this life.
